Theorists in Sociology, Part 1

These three podcasts are to supplement readings and discussion for Week 8 in our Fall 2014 Sociology 101 class.  The material in these podcasts  is also found in the reading we have in Russell's text.

The three podcasts that follow require you to have either speakers on your computer (for sound), or a set of headphones so that you can listen to the files that are linked here. You don't need to download anything extra; you don't need an iPod or fancy mp3 player.

Let me know what you think!

1) Podcast1: Introduction to the Key Theorists of Sociology, part 1 (Marx and Durkheim)

2) Podcast2: Introduction to the Key Theorists of Sociology, part 2 (Weber, Symbolic Interaction Theorists)

3) Podcast3: Introduction to the Key Theorists of Sociology, part 3 (Gender Theory)

Follow-up discussions will be threaded in our BlackBoard course shell.

Welcome!

Welcome to the blog for our introduction to sociology (Principles of Sociology). Please note that one feature of a blog in this setting (in Blogger) is that the newest posts are first at the top of the list. This can make things a bit confusing unless you remember the order things are originally posted-- for example when you are trying to listen to podcasts in their sequence-order. Enjoy the blog, and by all means, feel free to start your own! In the meantime, I will use this one periodically to post things that might not otherwise work so well in BlackBoard.
